MEET THE TEAM BEHIND THE AL-MASAAR

Farah Farzana

PROJECT MANAGER

Co-founder of Al Masaar, I am now the Project Leader for our Parent Club. Since we began in 2014, our focus has been to look after our children, by looking after the mother, as she is the main influence and role model in a child and young persons life. I started this project as Wee Steps, but over the years, our community has evolved and with more active members, I have found that the issues and barriers faced by ethnic minority women and children are far greater than what we initially anticipated.

Through my previous work experiences, I support our members in improving their confidence, self-esteem and upskilling. Daily problems and celebrations are encouraged to be shared in the safe space of the Parent Club, where we build on peer-to-peer support.

Al Masaar has a lot of potential in making a real change in the Forth Valley area, and I am proud to be a driving member of this.
