Hundreds celebrate Eid Al-Adha at Callendar Woods 

Over 400 people joined in the Eid festivities at Callendar Woods at the weekend [Sunday 3rd September], celebrating the first event of its kind in the woodland.  


Visitors to the Eid in the Woods event, organised by Al Masaar and Forestry Commission Scotland, enjoyed a range of free activities including a campfire with marshmallow toasting, outdoor play, face painting, arts and crafts, storytelling linking nature and Eid, outdoor cooking and foraging and a forest therapy walk looking at the many health benefits of being in the woods.   


The event attracted a mixture of groups from Glasgow, Inverclyde, Falkirk and surrounding areas looking for an alternative way to celebrate Eid. Throughout the day, participants planted Oak trees as a way of giving back to the woods and leaving a lasting legacy, bringing the event, the community and the woodland environment together.   

  

Nineteen young people from 7 to 16 years old, were also awarded John Muir Awards following the completion of activities at the Forest Falkirk Club. Run by Forestry Commission Scotland and Operation Play Outdoors, the group, from Al Masaar, took part in a variety of outdoor activities including den and fire building, outdoor cooking and camping and team work exercises.

StageClip, Inc. today announced the addition of Scotland-based Al Masaar SCIO as a sponsor of its inaugural leadership program, “Elevate Your Voice! #MakeItMatter.” The series of workshops and expert panels unites a select group of rising college graduates from around the globe in a program designed to define and elevate their unique personal brand. Al Masaar SCIO, which translates to “Path to Progression,” is a charity organization located in Forth Valley, Scotland. The charity seeks to advance active citizenship and the contribution of diverse communities through promoting equality, diversity, dynamic citizenship, and assisting in removing barriers (e.g., language, isolation, discrimination, and exclusion) of diverse ethnic and cultural minority communities.


StageClip and IEO Lab have partnered to support graduates through the inaugural leadership program by assembling students from colleges in the United States, Canada, Europe, the United Kingdom, Caribbean, Middle East, and North Africa for a series of expert-led workshops and trainings beginning in October and ending on November 18th, 2021.


Alongside this sponsorship, Al Masaar SCIO seeks to advance education through offering educational activities and training opportunities. Their focus is on programs that help these communities network, build their soft skills, and embrace their talents. This supports their mission to empower ethnic minority communities as a whole and their participation in wider society.
